Lindsey Lohan is another teenage singer, who is the rival of Hillary Duff. She wants to beat Hillary Duff, and to become the next Britney Spears, just as Hillary Duff wants to do. Lindsey Lohan is very similar to Hillary Duff, in that she gained her fame not through singing, but through other means, such as modeling or acting. What does this say about the music of today though? The fact that Lindsey Lohan is just another mediocre singer but yet an influence to teens, means that the quality of music is not important to the audience. Appearance is everything, and quality of music is nothing. However, Lindsey Lohan is a much better actress and model, and I think the only reason she went into singing was because it seems to be the trend, for actors to become singers, and vice versa. Lindsey Lohan fits into this trend, just like many of the other pop singers, such as Hillary Duff and Jennifer Lopez.

The image that Lindsey Lohan portrays to her audience is much different from the way Hillary Duff portrays herself. In fact, Lindsey Lohan is very similar to the way Britney Spears portrays herself to her audience. I do not think that she is a better role model than Hillary Duff because of the fact that Lindsey Lohan feels the need to impress her audience not with her music, but with her appearance. However, the audience of Lindsey Lohan seems to be the older teens, and her better acting than Hillary Duff may give her an edge on her feud to the next Britney Spears as a pop star.
