My Romantic Music Style Writing

By Michael Porcaro (myself)

I started composing piano music at the age of 13.  It wasn't romantic music, it was just, any music, so I could get the hang of how to write.  I never had an interest in music, let alone romantic music until around 13.  But once I picked up that interest at age 13, I wrote music every single day and night to this date today, and continue to do so.

I really wasn't all that good at composing until I hit my 20's.  I wrote tons of experimental piano projects, and it took me 10 years of hard and dedicated work to get to the writer that I am today.  In my earlier days, I studied Scott Joplin, and in fact, much of my experimental music is ragtime music.  I slowly evolved out of the ragtime music era, and got into romantic music.  From that point, I studied romantic music scores in depth such as Rachmaninoff, Franz Liszt, and Chopin.

Here are my very first 2 piano pieces I ever composed for kicks.

My very very very first piano piece No training, no music knowledge, no nothing.  This was when I realized composition really isn't a talent.  It's an acquired skill if motivated enough.
